I just got back from a weekend retreat in the Mountains and “aww”, I sure do feel refreshed! The clean air, wind blowing in the trees.. there is nothing like spending a little time in Nature and “Unplugging” from daily life!
Time to R-E-L-A-X….
As Moms, Business women and responsible adults, We get caught up in life. The need to constantly check our phones to make sure that all is “Okay”. It was nice to be “made” to relax! No WIFI or cell service made me do that!
It felt great to focus on ME, as well as it was wonderful to spend time with some amazing ladies. Yes, I did miss my bed and it did take me a day to stop looking at my cell phone! But it was WELL NEEDED!!!!
So, you’re probably wondering what type of retreat this was , right? Yoga, Womans group, Church group… what type of retreat did you escape to Christy?
Well, I will give you a HINT– it was in October and…. it was SPOOKY FUN!

Spooktacular Spirit Retreat
It was a weekend retreat full of fun, enjoying & experiencing spirit and spending time with some gifted healers!
The location was in a small Mountain town called Wrightwood, Ca. The retreat was held at a traditional camp (think Summer camp!!!). Which was fun, because I have ALWAYS wanted to go away to camp!
I was lucky enough that a girlfriend of mine wanted to also join me at the retreat. It was nice to have a travel buddy especially on the drive up there.
Welcome!
When I arrived we were greeted with open arms. We checked in and each “retreat guest” received a handmade tote. Inside the reusable tote bag was a few items– bottled water, a tablet and pen to write down fun things that you experienced during your stay, a folder with all the details about the retreat and our itinerary. We also had our own “personalized” lanyards. I thought they were super cute. I appreciated all the info and I felt like it was very detailed and organized.
After we checked in, we had time to go to our cabin and unpack. Each Cabin had a private shower, toilet and sink, as well as a few rustic bunkbed sets. Prior to us arriving, we did receive a detailed email on what to bring with us. So I was prepared! A few things that were suggested were toiletries, bath towels, and bedding for your bunk. My cabin was insulated and had heat, so I was grateful!
After we got settled in our cabin, we decided to take a look around the campground and do some exploring- and…. little did we know that there would be some “surprises” along the way!
The entire weekend there was fun games to partake in. One of the things we enjoyed was feeling like a kid again! There was “tickets’ all over the campground. I felt like a little kid on an Easter egg hunt!
This made me laugh, giggle and feel young again. The object was to collect as many tickets as you could and at the end of the weekend there would be a raffle! Yippppeeeee!!!
More about our 1st day…
My girlfriend and I went on a quick hike and then it was time for the “Welcome reception”. This was a great way to start the event off.
It was a “meet and greet’. We all gathered around the beautiful trees and introduced ourselves. Sipped on some wine, laughed and enjoyed some evening snacks.

After the welcome reception, it was time to head in for dinner and then enjoy the nights festivities. Dinner was another great opportunity to visit with other guests.
Food, lodging and activities are all included in your weekend stay.
Time to party!
The first evening included the welcome reception, dinner and then the Paranormal investigating workshop. During the workshop we talked about what “Paranormal Investigating” is and how to enjoy our adventure. We had a chance to see different equipment and tools we would be using.
After that, we had a little break to go get ready for the DEADS MANS COSTUME DANCE PARTY !

After the party, (for those that had the energy)- we did some “Paranormal Investigating”. I won’t share too much with you, because I want for YOU to experience this first hand! I will tell you that they do have paranormal equipment and we DID experience activity!!!

The next morning we started another fun day at the Spooktacular Spirit Retreat!
The next morning we started another fun day at the Spooktacular Spirit Retreat! Morning meditation under the trees. Breakfast and then Pet Cemetery readings. This session was very strong and many pets came through. I had a box of tissues next to me the whole time. This was a hard one for me. I did have a pet come through, only for a minute to say hello! But the other campers had some very touching experiences.
After the pet cemetery readings, we moved back inside to the lodge and gathered around to get educated on the “Ouji board”. This was a great experience and I felt like it was well needed.
A lot of people are misguided on the Ouji board. People think it is evil, when it truly was not intended for that purpose. Prior to the 1973 Horror film, “The Exorcist” which changed the Ouji board, it was a common household item.

Taking the Fear out of the Ouji Board-
Back in the late 1800’s when spiritualism was becoming popular, gifted people would invent a ways to communicate with the spirit world.
In 1886 the Ouji board was created.
People would gather in their parlors, living rooms and kitchens and partake in the use of “talking boards”. There is even a clip in the popular show called “I love Lucy”.
Yes, suburban families would gather around and connect with their loved ones! This was a “Fun” thing to partake in, NOT evil!
We learned about the history, explored the ouji board and shared stories.

Manifesting Wand Workshop
This was one of my favorite activities. I absolutely love being creative and I am a firm believer in manifesting.
Do YOU know what MANIFESTING MEANS? We are in control of our thoughts, we can create negative and POSITIVE outcomes. The energy and intention we set out into the Universe is what we receive.

Look at us DIVAS!!! We are spiritual warriors and we had so much fun! How awesome!!! Look at her!!!!
New Moon intentions
We discussed so much during this session. We also participated in a “ceremony” of releasing things- for me: Negative emotions.
Table tipping, trumpet and love, light and spook seance. I won’t share to much about this, because I want for YOU to experience this first hand!
Paranormal Investigating– this was a great experience! It was a chilly and breezy night. We visited a chapel and…. YES we did have some “guests”!
The evening ended with a recap of the day, and we had planned to do smores outside, but due to the recent wildfires here in California, we were not able to have an outdoor campfire, so we roasted them in this cozy and spooky fireplace!
Sunday….
Sunday was our last day there. After a great 2 days, I felt so relaxed and didn’t want to leave!
Morning Mediation outside under the Pine trees, then breakfast, followed by Panel discussion from some of the guest speakers, readings and Q & A. This was a great time for the retreat guests to ask questions.
Intuitive Card Reading Workshop-
This was a informative discussion on card reading and the history. We all received our very own set of cards to bring home with us, along with education on how to use them.
One of the MOST interesting things happened one evening-
I want to share this story with you- The group was in the middle of talking about spirits. As Kelly was talking, I snapped a photo. When I took the picture she said the word “Spirit”.
I looked at the photo and thought it was funny because she looked like a cartoon “ghost” in it. I showed the photo to two of my friends and was laughing about it.
I then walked over to Kelly to show her. As I walked over to her, she was in the middle of a conversation with another friend about something that was flying around her. It was small white light.
I then looked at the photo to show Kelly and my face lit up! I was in SHOCK!!!!! WHAT? WHAT? NO WAY!!!!!
THERE WAS A TINY ORB ON THE PHOTO!!! This was NOT there when I showed both my friends prior to showing Kelly.
What do YOU think it was ???? Do you see it? Could it be what was flying around near our friend?
End of the day…
After lunch we had some time to reflect, spend time in nature and chat with the other retreat guests. It was another great day! I stayed until the late afternoon and then headed home.

A very beautiful place of natural beauty where campers encounter a place of peace, quiet and nature.
We will be visiting this camp at the beginning of fall when that hint of autumn is in the air, where the mellow warmth of the sun is healing for the soul, and the evenings are cool and crisp.

– Paranormal Investigation Workshop – Learn the ins and outs of paranormal investigating and the use of equipment with paranormal and spirit group Touch of Spirit & Soul. Please feel free to bring any of your own paranormal equipment.
– Paranormal Investigation – We will break off into groups and investigate cabins and areas of the campground for spirit activity.
– Taking the Fear Out of the Ouija/Talking Board Workshop – There is a way to use the Ouija Board with the intention of empowerment and respect. Learn the history about this very misunderstood and controversial board and the rules of the board. We will also practice and play with the boards for those that are comfortable.
– Guided Morning Meditations – Wonderful way to get the day started with a lovely and relaxing guided meditation in the crisp morning air with the sound of the wind through the trees all around us.
– New Moon & Fire Intention and Release Guided Workshop – Let’s set our intentions for our higher good and release anything that no longer serves us under the new moon.
– Empath Superpowers Workshop – You will be taken on a fascinating path of empathy and determining if you are an empath and learning the superpowers of being able to feel the emotions o others through various exercises.

– Pet Cemetery Group Reading – Kelly will be doing a large group reading for attendees and inviting the spirits of your passed pets to join in to relay loving messages from the other side.
– Stories & S’mores by Campfire – After our investigations, we will sit around the fire and swap stories and experiences while enjoying a late night treat of S’mores.

– All meals – All meals are prepared by the camp chefs and staff. Dietary needs are recognized.
